Here are a few tips and tricks you can use to get the most out of your favourite candle! By taking a few precautions you can avoid lopsided burning and sooty glass. Keep your candle in optimal condition and enjoy the flame!

First Burn

When lighting for the first time, burn the candle until wax melts across the entire surface up to the sides of vessel as this will prevent tunnelling, and create an even burn for the duration of the candle's 'life'. This may take up to 2-4 hours.

trim your wick

We recommend trimming your wick before every lighting. The wick only needs to be approximately 6mm in length, keeping it this length will avoid mushrooming. This also controls the size of the flame allowing you to get the most time out of your candle

cleaning

If soot forms on the inside of the vessel, extinguish candle, wait for it to cool, then wipe with a clean damp cloth. Trim wick and relight. Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times. For the jar, you can remove dust and fingerprints from a candle by gently rubbing the surface with a soft cloth.

Extinguish candle with a snuffer. Do not blow out!

HOW TO TELL IF YOUR CANDLE IS BURNING PROPERLY

Efficient burning means flame is not flickering, teardrop shaped and upright. Extinguish a candle if it smokes, flickers, or the flame becomes too high. Let the candle cool and trim the wick.

Burning

Burn your candle for a maximum of 4 hours and allow to cool for 2 hours before relighting.

Do`s and Dont`s

Don't

Don`t open windows and doors, this will disperse scent and lessen the concentration. For maximum fragrance keep windows and doors closed and burn in desired space for 30 mins before entering.
